"I have been going to Sandy, who currently works at House of Hair, for almost 30 years. To be honest, it is because of Sandy that I go to House of Hair. I’ve followed her to three different shops over the course of these thirty years. She knows my hair and I barely even have to tell her what I want. She is friendly and down to earth, and we joke around a lot. I’ve never used anyone else in the shop, but they all seem friendly and competent. The salon is clean and easy to find, the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend House of Hair."
"Shalea was so kind, professional, and incredibly skilled at what she does. I came in for a partial highlight and cut, and she was able to give me the look I was going for within my budget and time available. Booking through her website was super easy too! My hair feels super healthy, and I absolutely love how it turned out! Highly recommend!"
"Shalea is the most unprofessional, condescending, inexperienced stylist I have ever been to. I went to see her to go from blonde to a light, warm toned brown for fall, she didn’t do a test strand and after toning it the first time she said my hair was not the color she wanted and that we would need to tone it again. She toned it a second time and said my hair was not taking the color in the back of my head, she then said we would need to tone it again to get the color to take then depositing a much darker color than was even asked for, there was also a huge pink chunk on the back of my head where the said color was not “taking”. She said she did not have the product to fix it and that she would need to bring me back in to correct the color 2 days later.. 2 days later I came back giving her my trust and the chance to make the situation right and once again something went wrong. After stripping my hair of the previous color, she attempted to deposit more color and said it was the same result. She then said we would need to put an ashy toned brown to counteract the tones which I had expressed concern about explaining to her that was not the color I wanted and I was worried it would have the same outcome when it came to the patch of pink in the back and she still proceeded saying the color would fix it. Then she said it turned it more pink and it didnt work and said we would have to leave it or strip the color again which at this point my hair was already in a brittle state. She said she couldn’t do it and it wasn’t working and that she would have to charge me for the product as she spent “hundreds of dollars” trying to fix HER mistake. Distraught, I refused to pay considering not only did she not do what I asked for but she ruined my hair and left it in a compromised state. This is when Shalea’s demeanor got nasty. She started scoffing and claimed she did not ruin my hair and that “it’s just a pink spot” did I ask for a pink spot? Did I ask for dark brown hair? At this point my I looked to the other stylist Wendy for help as I was in tears and felt taken advantage of yet Wendy met me with the same demeanor as Shalea claiming she did not need to take accountability because my hair wasn’t ruined and that Shalea is “the best stylist they have.” I’m assuming this is because as Shalea was doing my hair Wendy is whom she was seeking direction from. Both stylists started belittling me as if I was in the wrong for my hair turning out that way, I broke down crying and Shalea claimed I had to pay as I had automatically singed a waiver by booking through her app which is also not true (I have proof of this) I booked her on instagram and she put me into the app herself. I then walked out of the salon with wet, knotted, uneven hair. I spoke with another stylist from a different Salon who said they themselves would never pay for that nor would they ever expect someone to pay them for what was so clearly the providers fault. The switch these two stylists had once they realized I wouldn’t be bullied into paying for their mistake was astonishing. A complete lack of accountability, not one apology made, and the scoffing, and annoyed attitude while I was breaking down in tears is abhorrent. Hopefully this review can one day help someone from going through this as well and teach those two ladies a lesson in empathy and accountability. Very disappointed and traumatized by the treatment I received and will not feel comfortable trusting someone with my hair for a long time."
